Mac Daddy part 2

Ok. Here comes the pictures of the complete Mac Daddy project. I chose the BBS RS-GT wheels in the end coz I love BBS wheels. What I did was send the wheels to a paintshop for a custom paintjob in a textured matt black. This way, I get both my favorite wheels n favorite color. Hehe. I also got the dual AMG exhaust pipes done so now Mac Daddy is complete.

List of things done so far is:-
1. CL style radiator grille
2. Flat bonnet emblem
3. K&N intake
3. Eibach suspension
4. AMG dual pipes
5. 80% window tint
6. 18" BBS RS-GT wheels
7. 225/40/18 front tires. 255/35/18 rear tires
8. Red engine cover. Painted with Krylon Fusion plastic paint.

Here's the final pictures.

I did the red engine cover myself using Krylon Fusion plastic paint. It's a nice glossy red which doesnt really show in the picture.

Project Mac Daddy is now complete and I dont think I will be adding more stuff to it. It's now time to just enjoy driving it as a daily driver. My initial thoughts about turning it into a 250hp fire breather has been scrapped. I've decided to just let it be the gentleman express it's meant to be.

Now how am I gonna quench my thirst for more power n performance? Well, I've decided to get another car for that purpose. I'm now torn between getting a Mercedes AMG C36, Lancer Evolution 7 GTA or Mitsubishi Airtrek Turbo R. I was initially thinking of the C36 but I'm thinking seriously about the Airtrek now as it provides everything that I want which is- fire breathing power, handling, 2 sunroofs, Tiptronic gearbox, big huge hatchback boot(for my dog), good looking. What do you guys think? C36, Airtrek Turbo R or Evo 7 GTA?? Please share your opinions with me.

D-Lux 4 case

Look what I just got today. I went over to the local Distributor for Leica in Malaysia this afternoon and picked up the brown leather case for the D-Lux 4. Best thing is that it's totally free. Now, that's what I call good after sales service! They really do care about what happens after the sale and make sure their customers stay happy. Big huge thanks to Leica and Schmidt Marketing Malaysia.

This is currently the promotion for people who buy the Leica D-Lux4 now. After the warranty registration, you just go over to the Schmidt office in Petaling Jaya to pick up the lovely leather case which has a retail value of about rm700 if I remember correctly. This was the price I was quoted a few months back when I asked the local Leica dealers. They wanted a deposit on it before ordering 1 unit for me. I didn't buy it coz I wanted to try out the actual thing to see if it will fit my camera with the Ricoh LC-1 cap on it. After getting my case today, I can now confirm that the case will work with the Ricoh LC-1 cap. Thank heavens I didn't buy it then as it's free now for all D-Lux 4 owners. I bought my D-Lux 4 waaaaaaaay back in November when it was just launched so I guess just about everyone else will be able to get 1 too. Now all you fellas better hurry on over to Schmidt Marketing to claim that lovely leather case.

I'm sooooooooooo happy right now. I can't believe how much money I've saved. I now have the D-Lux 4 + Leather case + a Panasonic LX-3 for the same price as just the D-Lux 4 + Leather case in Shanghai. It's like I've gotten the LX-3 for free coz I saved about rm1700 which is what I paid for the LX3. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....... free is goooood. Hehehe.

Here's a picture of the leather case I picked up earlier today.

Just in case you guys wanna call Schmidt to check on the availability b4 going over there, here's their contact page. Just mouse over Malaysia and you'll see the Malaysian Branch details.

I've received quite a few queries regarding the Panasonic LX3 fitting into this lovely Leica leather case. So here's some pics for you guys. Yes the case works for all you LX3 owners too so hurry over to the nearest Leica dealer and grab 1 for yourself. It's an absolutely gorgeous case.

As you can see in this pic, the LX3 grip sits nicely within the U shaped cut out in the case. It fits perfectly.

Mac Daddy

Here's a lil sumthin I did for the car I call Mac Daddy. Hehe. It's a July 2007, Mercedes C200K. Was actually waiting for warranty period to finish b4 I start modding it but the tires were balding so I needed new tires n I guessed what the heck, might as well start now. I did this over the past 1 month. I'll post it up in the different stages like what I do for my PC case mods.

This was when everything was totally stock with almost bald tires.

1st thing I did was get rid of the old man Star on top of the bonnet n changed it to a flat emblem. Then did a 80% pimp tint.

Next up was the suspension. Stock Merc Elegance suspension is like a boat. Extremely soft n tall. My wife always complains about how she gets motion sickness in it. So everytime we go on mountain roads she will insist I take the Toyota Wish which has TRD suspension. She rather not suffer sea sickness in the Merc. So................ off goes the suspension n Eibach here I come. So much better now. Feels like a totally different car now n looks a whole lot better too.

I actually like the original wheels on this car. All my other cars, 1st thing I do is get rid of stock wheel coz they're so uglyyyyyyyyyyy. But these wheels r actually pretty nice. Just a lil small at 16". So I decided to paint them gun metal grey to see how it looks like n if I like them enough to keep permanently. I reckon they looked pretty good in gun metal grey eh? This pic was taken at Speedworks HQ while I was doing the K&N intake. The K&N unleashed a very nice supercharger whine on WOT. Stock paper filter was rather quiet n not much fun. Hehe.

I was debating whether to paint the original radiator grille matt black or just change to the new style CL grille. I succumbed to the beauty of the CL grill in the end. It was just too gorgeous to resist. After that I went to an empty Ikea basement carpark for some quick pics.

Mercedes Benz Great Malaysia Sale!

In the end, I just couldn't accept the 16" wheels n decided to get some big huge wheels. I thought of going up to 19" but then the rear tires would have to be 265/30/19. I don't like the idea of running around on 30 series tires in Malaysia with all the potholes around. So I decided to go 18". I went to my favorite tire shop called Hup Shun in Sunway to have a look see. This is the only tire shop I go to as I totally trust the guy to give me perfect fitments n installation. All my cars are done exclusively by them. Been going there for about 16 years now. Anyway. I saw 2 types of wheels that caught my fancy. Tried them on to see which 1 like.

I really liked the black center section of this wheel but I dont really like the design of the cross spokes.

Then I saw these lovely BBS RS-GT wheels with just the perfect cross spoke design I was looking for. Problem is that it doesn't come with black center section. :(

So which set of wheels do u guys reckon I got? Take a guess n find out in the next installment of Project Mac Daddy. I've completed everything I set out to do. Just need to give the car a good wash n do a nice photo session to reveal all. Stay tuned.............

Wheeeeeeeeeeee! Look what my dear wife bought me for my birthday. A loooooovely lil puppy I named Buddy. He's a Cavalier King Charles purebreed. I got him yesterday on my birthday n have been so busy taking care of his needs n toilet training him that I'm only posting this up now. Here's some pics of Buddy.

He's not looking very happy here during toilet training. LOL.
