5D MkII at ISO-12800

1st time I used ISO-12800 out of curiosity. Turned out pretty usable I reckon. This was shot on JPEG and straight out of camera without any editing. If it was shot in RAW and cleaned up a wee bit with something like Noise Ninja, it would most definitely be usable.

What do you guys think?

It's great to have such fantastic High ISO capabilty. That picture was taken at my family dinner to celebrate Chap Goh Meh(last day of Chinese new year).

1st thing I noticed when I arrived at the restaurant is the nightmare scenario. The restaurant ceiling was painted in black n it had wooden slats too. Absolutely no way for bounced flash n I hate direct flash.

1st thing I did was to take this test shot at ISO 12800 to see how high I could go since I won't be using flash. After finding 12800 satisfactory, I confidently snapped away throughout the dinner without flash. I used mostly 3200-6400 though. Really didn't need 12800 but it's good to know I can use it when needed. Hehe

really nice can boost up till 3200-6400 and still have good picture and less noise...

in a midly lit hall i usually put max till 800 and decrease EV to -2... will have effect of ISO 1600 when i increase EV to 0 back use PP...

but later after on will do upgrade body also =P
