Sony NEX FEVER!!!!!!!!

Photobucket

Photobucket

I love the Sony NEX so much, I bought another one today. Hehehe. Decided to get the NEX-5 with 18-55mm and 16mm twin lens kit this time. I've had the NEX-3 for a few days now and am totally happy with the image quality and all so I reckon the 18-55mm will be good for backpacking holidays. My wife prefers a zoom lens with image stabilization and she asked me to get the 18-55mm for her. Since I have to go and buy the 18-55mm, I figured I would just go out and buy the whole kit today. Decided on the NEX-5 this time since I already have the NEX-3. Hehe.

I'll just use the pancake and my wife will use the 18-55mm when we go on our backpacking holidays. No more worries about damaging our expensive SLRs and also the fear of being robbed since we like exploring and taking pictures of everyday life in slum areas. The NEX is so cheap, if we damage or lose it, it's easily replaceable and we're back on track since most camera stores will be selling the NEX. I can't imagine damaging or losing our SLRs while on holiday. It will be a nightmare, financially and also photographically speaking. We will still bring along the SLRs but we wont be using them in the slum areas anymore. It's a bit scary, really.

Nice camera bro, you are right bringing DSLR to slum area is a risk if just 2 of you are traveling.
We have that uncomfortable feeling when we were in some western & eastern Europe countries, after we whisk out the DSLR.
So what is the full kit sets consist of ? This will be another set of gears I will want add on to my collection but need to make the home minister happy 1st.

The NEX-3 set I bought comes with only the 16mm f2.8 lens. The NEX-5 set comes with 16mm f2.8 n 18-55mm lens. The Fisheye adapter you see in the pic is optional and cost me rm399.

It's very easy to persuade your wife. Just take her to the shop n let her play with the NEX. It's so easy to use n the picture quality is so nice, she will love it. My wife loves the NEX so much as she doesn't wanna carry her 5D MkII all the time.

Got the same sets as you with an extra wide, the misses will be using NEX5 as she claim the grip feel nicer so I end up with the NEX3.

Ian, Rayqual has announced that a range of adapters is launching for the Sony NEX-3 and Sony NEX-5 cameras that will allow Leica, Nikon and Canon lenses to be used on the new Sony cameras.

Hehe. The Ultra Wide Adapter is out already? Mine is the Fisheye. Luckily my wife likes the NEX-3 coz I like my Nex-5 in silver color. The Rayqual adapters only allow Canon FD lenses.

I might get the custom made 1 from ebay that fits Canon EF lenses so I can use it with all my L lenses. Still thinking about it as I may not want to use the L lenses on the NEX after all.

Hi Ian, the wide lens that I bought is actually is the fish-eye converter not the ultra wide and according to dpreview Rayqual has produce the adapters for Sony NEX-3 and Sony NEX-5 cameras that will allow Leica, Nikon and Canon lenses.

beyond, u haven't bought yours yet?

TY, ya I know about the Rayqual adapters but the Canon 1 only does Canon FD lenses which are the really old lenses. To use my L lenses, I need the RJ adapter.
